Chaga Hot Chocolate

Are you familiar with Chaga? Chaga (which is the Russian word for mushroom) is often called “The King of medicinal mushrooms”. It is jam packed with antioxidants, minerals and vitamins and strengthens the immune system. Compared to blueberries it contains around ten times as much antioxidants!

In the winter I make sure to drink a cup of Chaga every day. I buy chunks of Chaga in my local health store and I boil the chunks in filtered water for as long as possible. I usually do around 3 hrs but anything over an hour is good. After that I store the Chaga (which is now black as coffee) in the fridge and use it over the following few days.

Some people, including myself, find the taste of chaga a bit too earthy and therefore I like to make a hot chocolate or other type of tonic out of it.

This recipe is very simple. Just heat up the milk and the chaga and pour it together with all of the other ingrediens into a blender (that can withstand heat!). Blend it for 30 seconds or so and you’re done. Enjoy!
